Non-Accredited Short Courses

Non-Accredited Short Courses
ACM College offers a range of non-accredited courses to NDIS providers. These courses are of shorter duration of between one to three hours in length and are conducted by a registered nurse.

These short courses are conduct online through virtual training and some have additional materials available to participants through the ACM College eLearning site.

All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation which can be used towards their annual continuing professional development.

Diabetic Management
This course reviews the aspects of diabetes and its impacts on the disabled.

Nutrition in people with disabilities
This course looks at the importance of and issues associated with nutrition for those with disabilities.

Basic Manual Handling
This course is a refresher course for both supervisors and support workers. It reviews the manual handling procedures for baths, showers and hoisting of clients.

PEG Feeding
This course is designed for those supporting clients who have a PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) tube and require feeding via the tube. This course covers the care and support the person with feeding, assist in the care and management of the PEG and appreciate the significance of the tube.

Epilepsy Awareness

This course is designed as an awareness session which will benefit all support workers who work with people who suffer from epilepsy and helps to give an understanding of the types of seizures that you may observe and how to manage them.

Infection Control Refresher
This course is a refresher course for both supervisors and support workers and review the requirements for infection control based upon the current guidelines in place as issued by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia.

Mental Health – Restrictive Practice
This course examines what are restrictive practices, the role of service providers and the elimination of such practices.
